Description:
The achiote marinade, is made with annatto seeds of excellent quality, used to give color and as an excellent seasoning. It is grown in the humid tropical weather of the Yucatan Peninsula in the southeast of Mexico.
It's traditionally used as seasoning in Yucatecan and Central American dishes, mainly those influenced by the Mayan culture. Curiously enough it is also popular in The Philippines, where it was brought by the Spanish during their rule and now it's known as "achuete".

How to use:
It's really easy to use. Dissolve the amount of paste in vinegar or orange juice, rub your meat of choice with the paste and let sit for a few hours. The meat is then ready for grilling, baking or roasting.
Ingredients: Annato seeds, iodized salt, condiments, vinegar, citric acid and potassium sorbate. |
